n8n Integration
Automate Vergate scans inside n8n workflows.
Vergate ships an official n8n community node (n8n-nodes-vergate) that wraps the entire Vergate REST API. Use it to trigger scans, retrieve findings, and route results to Slack, email, or any other n8n node — no code required.
#Installation
In your n8n instance, go to Settings → Community Nodes → Install and enter:
n8n-nodes-vergateOr install manually in a self-hosted n8n:
npm install n8n-nodes-vergateThen restart n8n.
#Credentials
Create a Vergate API credential in n8n with two fields:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Backend URL | https://api.vergate.dev |
| API Key | Your pk_... key from Account → API Keys |
#Operations

#Example Workflow
Daily security digest:Schedule Trigger (daily 9 AM) → Vergate: Run Full Project Scan → Vergate: Get Scan Results → IF (findings > 0) → Slack: Send Message with the findings summary.
CI/CD gate: GitHub Trigger (push) → Vergate: Scan Website → IF (critical or high findings) → Slack: Alert + GitHub: Create Issue.
#MCP vs n8n — which to use?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is for AI assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf). The LLM calls Vergate tools directly during a conversation. Use MCP when you want an AI to reason about findings and generate fixes.
n8n is for automation and orchestration. Use n8n when you want scheduled scans, alerting pipelines, or integration with other tools (Slack, email, databases, ticketing). n8n nodes are deterministic — they run the same way every time.
